Telemetry Support
Buxco's BioSystem FinePointe™ software supports data collection with telemetry utilizing Telemetry Research or Respironics' Mini Mitter® technology. Using these components, researchers can monitor an animal's body temperature in real time, improving the accuracy of some whole body plethysmography values when body temperature may not be constant. Typical applications include deep hypoxia and some forms of sedation.
Respiratory flow derived parameters are collected using a plethysmograph which can be placed on a telemetry receiver. The receiver is used to collect body temperature, heart rate, and/or gross motor activity. The signals are passed to the computer where they are combined for data analysis and reporting in a single software data set.
Telemetry Research provides a comprehensive telemetry system for rats and larger species. Signals can be collected continuously or on a schedule. Telemetry Research uses Millar sensors for high fidelity. The Telemetry Research solution continuously charges implant batteries reducing refurbishment cost.
