RC analysis involves measurement of flow and pressure – mouth, pleural, and /or esophageal. Flow is measured using a plethysmograph chamber.
Studies may be performed on anesthetized subjects, both ventilated and spontaneously-breathing. Subjects can be studied repeatedly by intubating though the mouth or by using a mask.
Buxco's FinePointe RC system is the ultimate for measuring resistance and compliance in rodents. This highly-integrated system requires just one USB connection and one power connection for each subject, simplifying operation and reducing bench space requirements. Each controller provides preamplification, analog-to-digital conversion, aerosol control, and a respiration pump. The system is highly-scalable and easy to store when not in use.
