Double chamber Plethysmography

PLY3023 for rat

Double chamber plethysmography involves two chambers connected together: a head chamber and a body chamber. Each chamber has a pneumotachograph and flow transducer for measuring nasal and thoracic flows independently. The two chambers are separated by an elastomeric neck seal. Chambers are available for mouse, rat, and guinea pig.

The Non-invasive Airway Mechanics (NAM) software analyzer in BioSystem XA processes the two flow signals to report common flow derived parameters, along with Specific Airway Resistance (SRaw) and its reciprocal, Specific Airway Conductance (SGaw). Use with telemetry to record combined pulmonary and cardiovascular parameters.

The double chamber plethysmograph can be outfitted with aerosol delivery for treatments and dose response studies.
